Pure Color – Santa Cecelia

September 30, 2013
There are many granite countertop color options available to homeowners today. This variety in selection is one of the many draws this natural stone has for the consumer, as the variety means buyers may enjoy all the benefits of granite while still finding a color that fits their desired design scheme as well. One of the most popular is Santa Cecelia Granite. Also known in the industry as Giallo Cecelia or St. Cecelia Classic, this gorgeous granite is quarried in Brazil and features a classic beige background with burgundy, gold and dark grey veins.

Santa Cecelia is growing in popularity for its perfect blend of neutral base and accentuating flair. The beige background is a nice compliment to clean, seamless kitchen looks. It contrasts dark or light cabinetry and floors nicely. The pop of burgundy and gold creates a rich, textured look to the stone that adds a bit of color, breaking up what could be an overall monotone effect. These accent colors may be carried throughout the room’s design with matching décor and appliances, cabinetry, flooring or mosaics, or may stand alone as an understated focal point.

Some compare the look of Santa Cecelia to a “leopard” pattern, which means this granite may also bring a touch of the exotic to your design scheme, depending upon how you choose to play the stone up or down.  (I.e., if you choose to take the leopard resemblance literally or not in your accompanying décor.) Though Santa Cecelia is a very striking stone, it is subtle and earthy in appearance, which means it can be used in generous expanses without overpowering a room of any size.

Santa Cecelia granite offers a consistent color and pattern, is available in abundant supply, and is,  therefore, a relatively affordable natural stone. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor applications and is recommended for walls, countertops, landscape features, and flooring.

Santa Cecelia is exceptionally beautiful but has all of the practical benefits of granite. Granite is:

  • A green choice
  • Heat resistant
  • Scratch and stain resistant
  • Low maintenance
  • Extremely hard
  • Chemical resistant
  • Elevates a room
